Q: Are digital fotocamera's more or less expensive then in europe? Wha would you pay for them in Beijing? And where would be the best place to shop for them?
Submitted By: Arianeilyine on the 1st November 2006
A: Yes, but they are even cheaper in Hong Kong, Japan . In Beijing, the cheapest place is Zhong Guan Cun Market area, which is the biggest digital and IT products wholesaling and retailing center all over the CHina. Hundred's shops and sellers there, you can find everything at good price. You have to pay Chinese Yuan in cash.

A: Silk Market ( Xiu Shui Market in CHinese) is one choice, cheap but decent quality. Alternatively, you can find those stuff in all shopping centers, where is a bit expensive.

Q: What is your ‘insider tip’ for Beijing?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 21st June 2006
A: Beijing's many places are related through history. So, do a bit of reading about Chinese history which will help. Of course, a local friend's help is the greatest.

Q: Is it easy to get around Beijing?

A: Taxi is easy but expensive. Bus is cheap but confusing. Subway plus taxi would be the best choice, especially the new subway line which will be finished in one or two years.
