Q: How much approximately should one expect to pay for a taxi from Ataturk hotel to the Sultanahmet area where l have booked a hostel , Cordial house hotel ? My other question is : do l really need a rabies vaccination as suggested by some government sites as a precaution? lt sounds a little overcautious to me... thanks, Colette. Submitted By: Colette Vidal on the 9th May 2006 A: There is a meter in every taxi. Just make sure you have them turn it on, and don't pay extra. Also write down the TAXI number and let the taxi driver see you do it. It makes them behave better. For some reason Airport taxi's are the worst. I've been cheated by them several times. If you can, take the Metro from the Airport. It will take you all the way to Aksaray, get off there, and then walk 100mts to the tramway and then take that to Sultanahmet.

Q: can you please tell me if it is possible to get public transport from Canakkle tp Kusadasi. Also do you know of any tours that operate from Istanbul to Kusadast visiting Gallipoli and Troy Hope you can help thanks Pauline Submitted By: duk on the 24th April 2006 A: There are always busses you can get between cities. I suspect you would need to take a bus to Izmir first, then from Izmir to Kusadasi.
