Matthew
I have lived here all my life, apart from a year out and 3 years at Uni, and can say I know every bar, club and pub in the city. I have been going out and about in the city for 10 years or so, and have seen many changes. The city still makes me proud to be from it, and I love showing tourists the best places to go. Want to know something about Liverpool? Ask Matthew a question

Q: Hi,
I'm a big Liverpool fan and wondering how do you get tickets for games at Anfield? And how much is a ticket for a game?
Thanks.

A: Hi John, thanks for your question. It depends on which game you wish to see. Some games you just WONT be able to get tickets for, as they are sold primarily to season ticket holders, like Cup games. Premiership games have their tickets go on sale a few weeks before the game itself, and these can be bought by post, online or over the phone. You can also try your luck at the ticket office at the ground.
However, Liverpool being liverpool, tickets are very hard to come by most of the time, but prices start about £30. Have a look at the Liverpool FC website, which tells you this and much more about the club (http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/tickets/howtoapply.htm)
A sneaky way of getting in to see games is by knowing someone who has a season ticket, but does not want to go to that game, and persuade them to let you have that stub for the game. Season tickets are even harder to come by, and are passed down the family when people die! Welcome to Football City mate!
dont let all this put you off, even if you dont get a ticket, Liverpool on home match day is something of a carnival anyway, with all the pubs being full, and all the fans coming back into town after the game, and if you go up to the ground, you will get a really good atmoshpere around the stadium anyway.
Enjoy your visit to Liverpool!

Q: Is it expensive to go out at night in Liverpool?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 15th March 2006
A: Again, if you want it to be. The cheapest place in town, the Raz is dirt cheap, three drinks will cost you less than a fiver, and you get change. Or you can swank it up in one of the many achingly hip bars that have sprung up.
