Q: Dear Ricardo,
I'm going to Milan this week and I have a question.
I smoke and apparently I can't smoke indoors. Are there any cafeterias, bars or restaurants which place tables outdoors ,so as to smoke outside?
Submitted By: kouneli on the 21st August 2007
A: There are really many of them. You just have to look around and choose the one you prefer. Ask for the area called navigli (underground stop of the line number 2 "Porta Genova"). That is one of the main place where pubs and bars are gathered. Otherwise go to Via Brera, right in the city centre

Q: Dear Riccardo,
I would like to know what italain ice cream brands are solid in Italian super markets? I searched the net and could not find a single Italain ice cream brand that can be bought on a stick or in a cup that is pre-packaged.
Thank you

A: Let me think: The most tasteful are "antica gelateria del corso", "bindi" and "Tre Marie". Then you can find "algida", "Sammontana", "Motta"... can't remember others at the moment. These are the most popular anyway.
Ciao!

Q: It is forbidden to smoke in Italian bars, right?
Can one smoke in the street or in the park?
Is it allowed to have an alcoholic drink outside (drink from bottle on a park bench, for example)?
Thank you.

A: Yes, you can't smoke in bars, restaurants or in any public indoor area, but of course you can smoke everywhere outdoor. Hey, we are talking about smoking legal stuff, right?:)
You can drink where you want outside, as long as your behaviour is not disturbing for other people. I mean, drink but don't act like a vandal when you are drunk. If you behave good, no one will tell you anything. Have fun

Q: Can you please tell me the least expensive bars in Milan. I will be travelling with friends and we will drink a lot.Any area will do, we're just looking for beers below €4 (or below €3 if possible!!!!!)
Thanks!
Submitted By: A Virtual Horse on the 8th September 2006
A: Beer cheaper than 4 euro in Milan? Just forget it! Hehe...I mean, Milan it's pretty expensive and it's hard to get cheap beer. You can get it somewhere during the happy hour time, that is to say from 5 to 8 in the evening. I think there are some pubs that sell beer cheaper once a week, but at the moment I just know one of them: it is called "Magafurla" and it's situated near the university "La Bicocca". It's not very esay to find, but once you have reached the university you just need to ask someone and you will be easily leaded there. Anyway a pint of beer in Milan costs from 4,50 to 6 euro. I suggest you to visit the area called "Navigli". You can get easily get there by underground: take the line number 2 (the green one) and get off in "Porta Genova". From there ask someone for the "Navigli area" (5 min walk anyway) and you will find a big area full of young people, bar and pubs. Visit recommended during the week end.
Enjoy your stay!
P.S: if you really want cheap beer go to the supermarket and you can get a 66cl bottle for less than 1 euro
