Q: You're the closest I've found to a travel guru on Moldova,
As you can see I've been a bit jaded and I'm looking for adventure. I noticed that hostelworld actually has a listing for a hotel in Tiraspol, a bit of a no-go zone. The UK Foreign Office hasn't issued any specific warnings against Transdniestra, but just about every travel guide says it's a bit of a no-go zone.
And more generally on Moldova: any nice or not so nice things (such as rather high incidents of racism, as may be the case in Russia)?

A: Hi Bastien, me personally have no experience nor I have knowledge on the situation in Transdniestria nowdays.
The best that I could do for you is to give you the e-mail address of a Peace Corps voulnteer in Bulgaria that has friends PCV in Moldova.

P.S. And my guessing is that it can not be dangerous, unless you fail to invest some effort to understand why this region is the way it is and you fail to show the respect to these people they deserve.
Q: Hi. This is just really an all around Europe question. I am a girl and I don’t want to carry a huge backpack around I have tried to look for ones with wheels but I haven’t found any. (Oh yea I live in Austria not a whole lot of choices). I traveled a bit last year I liked the suitcase but felt out of place with the other “backpackers.” Do you really think a backpack is the only way to go?

A: It much depends which part of Europe you are travelling to. Western and Central Europe you will be feeling absolutely comfortable on wheels. Eastern / South Eastern Europe I would say to go for the backpack. And, consider the combined packs as well - in between a back pack on wheels and a suitcase with shoulder straps.
