Top Tip: You don't need that much stuff!!

I live in Western North Carolina. Near Asheville. Probably the coolest city in the US. Small town, big style! Its the most "alternative" city I've been to, but also a small town, and surrounded by mountains so it satisfies all outdoor needs! I have also travelled through quite a bit of the US in general. As well as Western Europe.

Q: Where is a fun, clean, cheap nice place to stay in Asheville?
Submitted By: Mich on the 25th April 2006
A: Bon Paul and sharky's hostel is probably more fun, but the Arthaus has a better location. Both are usually clean, and average price for a hostel. Asheville is fun. When are you going?
Q: In your opinion, what is Asheville’s number one attraction?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 23rd March 2006
A: The music scene.
Q: What else shouldn’t be missed?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 23rd March 2006
A: The Biltmore House. Hiking and camping.
Q: Is it expensive to eat out in Asheville?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 23rd March 2006
A: It certainly can be! But like any place, you just have to know where to go. There are plenty of inexpensive restaurants with great food. I'm an expert on these!
Q: What is the best part of Asheville to eat out in?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 23rd March 2006
A: Downtown has a cheap fast Thai noodle shop with a great atmosphere. Also Tupelo Honey has great southern high-cuisine for great prices.
Q: Is it expensive to go out at night in Asheville?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 23rd March 2006
A: Not really. If you like live music, there are plenty of places with bands that don't charge a cover, and some that charge only a minimal fee. The clubs usually charge between 5 and 10 bucks. But there aren't a ton of clubs.
