Top Tip: Never walk past a little coffee shop. The employees are always friendly, and there are newspapers everywhere to get to know your new city... with no pressure and the local cafe fare!

I've tried to leave, but I just can't get out...my religious love for the Red Sox, fresh lobster and a million things to do in a tiny city keeps me here. I'm a general knowledge queen about the place; I can navigate the subway system, tell you where to park a car, which hostels are bloody disgusting, and how tah get theah frum heah. I'm a restaurant/coffee house junkie, but also work as the Activities Director at an International School in Boston...so I can find your way, and back, with minimal English =)

Q: What else shouldn’t be missed?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 4th April 2006
A: The Irish Pubs out in the neighborhoods (not the main tourist ones) show how much the Irish hospitality has affected us. They're perfect places to pull up a stool and meet a local...or an Irishman.
Q: Is it expensive to eat out in Boston?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 4th April 2006
A: Runs the gammit, but you can always find a cafe, a Greek-run sub shop or a 'mom and pop' pizzeria that throws together a Gyro, a huge steak and cheese or some brilliant Mexican for cheap.
Q: What is the best part of Boston to eat out in?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 4th April 2006
A: The North End, hands down. No chains, all authentic(ish). You're almost never dissappointed.
Q: Is it expensive to go out at night in Boston?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 4th April 2006
A: The nightclubs can be mediocre and expensive because of the early closing, but if you go early enough or on the right nights you can go for cheap. And if you can "When in Rome..." while you are here, there is always a crappy beer on special for $2 at your nearest pub.
Q: What is your favourite bar/club in Boston?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 4th April 2006
A: 'Our House West' on Comm Ave. They play 'Family Guy' on Tuesday nights and have 22 ounce Brubaker beers. They have board games, fooseball and couches. It's a jeans and t-shirt sort of place where you go to really, hang out.
Q: Is it easy to get around Boston?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 4th April 2006
A: Always. Except after 2am...then it's cabs and they can get expensive.
