Top Tip: Always have some music and a book with you for long trips!
After working in a busy Dublin hostel for 2 years meeting backpackers on their travels I decided it ws time to go back on the road. Myself and my friend wanted to go somewhere inexpensive and a little of the beaten track where we would spend very little but would be able to spend a long time there. India was just the place! Q: Hi there, i m thinking of travelling to India and i have some questions for you: Fistly when is the best time to visit India? What's the best hostel in Delhi and Agra? How can i go from Delhi to Agra and back and... is it dangerous to travel alone in India?
thanks for your time

A: Hi there, it all depends on when you go. The rainy season starts in different times of the year in different areas. I was in the west from January to March and it was warm but bearable, then the rainy season starts. It takes about 4 hours to get the train from Delhi to Agra, I travelled with my female companion and we met lots of other travellers female that were on their own and no one had any complaints.
Happy travels

Q: Hi, we are planning a trip to India in august? What is best to do go to South or North India? What about the moonsons? What places in India are absolutely a must? thanks!!!
Submitted By: Mireia on the 4th May 2006
A: Hi there, By August the wather will be unbearably hot down in the south and monsoon season will be in full swing. The mountains up north will offer some welcome relief from this heat! A must, I would definitely say Palolem Beach in Goa, any part of Rajisthan, ParaGanj and I know everyone says it but the Taj Mahal really is the most amazing sight ever! I hope this hyelps you.

Q: What is your ‘insider tip’ for India?
Submitted By: Hostelworld Moderator on the 31st August 2005
A: Bring as little as possible as you can buy absolutely everything when there! Stock up on rehydration sachets as you will get sick no matter what! Stay away from the meat unless you are eating in a very expensive restaurant.
