I was born and currently live in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. As Brunei is quite a small country by population, I am also familiar with the nearby towns. There is no club scene in Brunei and sale of alcohol is banned. However, I do eat out and go sightseeing very often. I can answer any questions relating to shopping, dining, places of interests and accommodation in Brunei.

There is only one hostel and a few guest houses for budget traveller. Travellers come to Brunei NOT for the nightlife or club scene. If it is the culture and relaxation you are after, this is the place. Though it is an Islamic country, it is quite liberal compared to some Arab countries.Women enjoy the same freedom as men. However, dress conservatively and no bikinis if swimming, afterall it is still an Islamic country.
