Jumping Off Point For the Rock

I guess that is Alice Springs in a nutshell. The bar with the peanuts on the ground was fun for a night and the rest of Alice Springs is dustly and dry, but what else do you expect? Get to the rock, use Alice Springs as a great respite for a shower before catching the Ghan to go north or south. The city tour wasn't much to speak of.

Alice Springs

Alice Springs is nothing more than a stop off location for those on their way to Uluru. However it Does have a big Aborigionee community so local gifts i.e paintings etc can be picked up a lot cheaper than other places.

  • Insider tip:Visit the Kangaroo Rescue Center on Gap street and get to cuddle a baby Joey.. If your planning to go to Uluru, Kings Canyon Kata Tjuta, wefound it cheaper to hire a car and camp then to do a tour trip. Plus then you are on your own schedule and take more or less time to enjoy things. We enjoyed Uluru Sunset more than the Sunrise.

Quirky, Quiet, Very Aussie, and chilled out. Nice for a few days with lots to see.
