Not called the Culture Capital for nothing!

2005's European Culture Capital, Cork is a smaller city than Dublin and feels more Irish than European. Bring your raincoat and make sure to visit Blarney Castle and try your luck kissing the Blarney Stone.

Cork is "functional"...

"Functional" in terms of that we did'nt find such nice places to stay the evenings/nights (no area like Temple Bar, too less pubs/clubs/bars). Nevertheless, Cork is a nice place for shopping and a short stay to see the city "highlights" and those around it, including Kinsale and the castles.
