About Dresden

Historically, Dresden was famed for its beautiful art and architecture, so much so that it was referred to as 'The Florence of the Elbe'. However, following the allied bombing of Dresden in WW2 and many years of Soviet rule, the city became vastly different to when it was home to the Kings of Saxony. A good stop on the way to Prague...

Dresden was a very unique city offering nice architecture and shopping. There is a unique mix of old and new buildings. I noticed lots of elderly tourists.

  • Insider tip:Have a donair, they are cheap and filling.

Well worth a visit

This place is quite chilled out but there is plenty to see and if you fancy a relax for a a couple of days this is the place

  • Insider tip:If you arrive to the main station then a taxi will be needed as its 20 mins from main city.
