About Naples

With a population of just over one million people, Naples is Italy's third largest city. Situated in the southern half of the country, this is the capital of Campania and the Naples Province. Due to its location on the Bay of Naples, which is overlooked by Mount Vesuvius, it is a great city to visit. view more»

Napoli...im hungry!

Wiiiiicked hostel! great position, easy to find, brilliant staff, very helpful and nice :). Place is very new and beautifully crafted. I didnt party in Naples, simply due to being there to eat and look around and this is much satifaction. But its a great local area away from tourists but still in the centre.

  • Insider tip:Go to the bakery left outta the hostel to the end of street. turn left again and walk bout 200metres on the otherside of the road. open 24hrs basically anf its marvellous! Tip 2: skip hostel breakfast and head around salvator rosa for great and cheap and and coffee

Naples is Italy uncovered

This is the kind of place where motorists stop in the street to check out an item in a shop window, or chat with their friend in the oncoming lane. It's crazy and dirty but it is Italy as you'll never see it --I love Naples, there's nothing like it in Western Europe.

Naples will enchant

It's dirty, smelly, noisy, and full of chaos---and I LOVED it. This is a city many tourists don't get to in Italy because they hear too many bad things about it, but Naples showed me Italy at it rawest --this city had a real pulse and just made me feel alive with all the revving motorcycles and crazy drivers.

  • Insider tip:But the artecard if you're in Naples for two or three days --it's well worth the money: 2 free museums + transport & discounts on other things
