Rio is a Must See

Rio de Janeiro is everything you've imagined it would be and more! From the amazing coastline to the high energy nightlife, Rio is a must see destination. Be prepared to throw your budget out the window because Rio doesn't care how much money you need to borrow from mom and dad! Don't fret about the money-Rio is worth every Realis!

  • Insider tip:Take a city tour in which you visit the Sugar Loaf, Cristo del Redentor, etc. This can be a better deal. Also, make sure to take a favela tour.

Rio is fun, you can do the major sightseeing, ie the sugar loaf, Crist the redeemer etc in a day and then chill on the beach. Although it was raining when we were there.

  • Insider tip:Take a city tour asthe city is quite spread out.

Postcard perfect

You're unlikely to ever see a more beautiful city than Rio, and there's plenty to see and do. It's not very safe, though, and the rich/poor divide is great, so keep an eye out, use disposable cameras if you can, and take taxis because they're cheap.

  • Insider tip:If you're there for the Samba parade during Carnival, pay extra for a close seat - it's worth it.

This place was the best hostel I have ever been. The people that work there are amazing and make the best caipirihnas! I would stay there over and over again!
