Remember not to pay the tuk tuk drivers the full sum before the end of the day or they might not appear.

Siem Reap - okay-is, not overwhelming

but I got myself bored to death in Battambang so in comparison it was nice and we met a few very lovely travellers there so I keep it in good memory ;-)

• Insider tip:PATIENCE! And beware of Khmer New Year, if u so happen to be there and want stuff done and organized - it is a mayor pain in the ass; even though it is only three days long it feels the country doesn't work for 3 months and everything gets the new year tax.

Excellent Hostel. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Good food. The p`lace was very chilled out. Only 10 min walk into town and if you´re looking for somewhere quieter to stay it´s an ideal spot.

Siem Reap a place to visit

The Angkor ruins are stunning , a must see. Siem Reap being a city next tot he ruins is a great place to chill out, it's famous French quarters offer great places to stay

• Insider tip:Try to get a place near the Old Market as everything happens in that area.

The Angkor temples are a must see, don't skip them if you're in SE Asia.

• Insider tip:When u go to the temples take a Tuk Tuk or motorbike, a bike would be too hectic becoz of the distances and the hot weather
