Wellington City

Getting around is really easy, there are bus stops about every km, with different buses arriving every 5 or 10 minutes to anywhere in the city, for only $1.50. Getting around on foot is also very easy. Botanic gardens are beautiful at night, and a good way of getting away from the noise of the city

  • Insider tip:Don't bother with umbrellas, they do more harm than good. Invest in a heavy, preferably waterproof coat and some kind of hat. Bring a detailed map as sometimes the signposts aren't very good. The second hand shops on Cuba St can be very expensive, unless they're on sale.

Wellington Review

A nice city, easy to explore by foot.

  • Insider tip:See the Te Papa Museum. Great museum (free entrance). Go with the cable car to the botanic garden.
