Melbourne - Down at Federation Square

Found directly across from Melbourne's best-known landmark Flinders Street Station, Federation Square (which is better known as 'Fed Square') is a melting pot of culture. Here you can visit attractions such as the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and the National Gallery of Victocia (NGV). In this podcast Hostelworld.com's Colm Hanratty speaks to Kim Polkinghorne to find out about this great attraction.

    Perfect accomodation

We stayed for one night in one bungalow, and it was very comfortable and clean. The location is perfect, and the crew attention super friendly. I recommend it 100%

    Friendly Town

Airlie Beach is a town that know how to have fun. I was lucky to be here in SEptember, great time of year with beautiful sunny days and cooler nights.

Insider Tip:Make sure you go sailing!

Do not book a sailing trip for three days/two nights!

Airlie Beach does not have a beach for swimming, only a very nice lagoon. We did a three days sailing trip and you can safe the money and do something different. The sailing boats are really small, just two toilets and after three times snorkeling you get bored. There is no adventure at all and if it is raining you will wish to be back in Airlie as soon as you can. The only thing you really need to see is Whitehaven Beach and you can book a day tour instead of boring sailing tour.

Insider Tip:Book a scenic flight over Great Barrier Reef - breathtaking and the most amazing thing to do

    Small town

As many cities on the sunshine coast, the city is very small and just activities to do there like sailing, snorkeling and diving. The night life is pretty good with a few bar/club.

Insider Tip:If you have time you can walk north to see the botanic garden

Camira: Good day out on the sea

The Camira Sailing adventure was great! :) Also the snorkelling, at least for me, was better than in the outer reef the day before!

Insider Tip:Snorkel within the boundaries, but further from the crowd.

Australia: Itinerary
