You won’t be short of entertainment during your stay in Bath as the city boasts a wide variety of traditional pubs, chic bars, cocktail dens and live entertainment venues. These are spread out throughout the city.

One of the funkiest places to go for a drink in Bath is Opium, a cocktail bar located underneath Grove Street. It’s a bit off the beaten track but it is well-worth taking the time to find it. Once you step inside you’ll be treated to three uniquely decorated rooms where you can sip on a huge selection of colourful cocktails, over thirty world beers and plenty more.

Two great places to try if you find yourself in Bath on a sunny day are The Bell and Adventure Café. At Adventure Café you can sit out in the beautiful garden area and relax with some wine, have a beer or just soak up the atmosphere why enjoying a coffee. The Bell, which boasts a wide variety of real ales, also has a popular outdoor seating area in its courtyard. Stick around and you might hear some live music as bands regularly appear here.

For drinking and dancing, make sure to check out The Common Room. A favourite with locals, it’s spread out over two levels with a dance floor downstairs and comfy couches and cool window seats upstairs, plus lots more.

Komedia is one of the top venues in town for live entertainment. Housed inside the renovated Beau Nash Picture House, it hosts everything from stand up comedy to cabaret acts to live music.

    The Vaults (underneath Grove Street), Spring Gardens Road, Bath, England

    Opium is an incredibly cool cocktail bar attracting a chic crowd of Bath locals and visitors to the city. Along with the brightly-coloured brews on offer, you’ll also be able to sample over thirty world beers and plenty more. Throughout the bar’s three unique rooms you’ll find everything from intricately painted ceilings to a well. What’s more everything that you see here, with the exception of the boar head over the bar, is for sale!

  • The Bell

    103 Walcot Street, Bath, England

    Attracting a mix of ages, The Bell hosts a wide variety of live music acts to compliment the wide variety of drinks available from the bar. Each week you’ll be able to sample around seven different types of real ale, along with two guest ales and plenty more. A relaxed and friendly pub, The Bell also boasts a popular outdoor seating area out back in its courtyard.

  • Adventure Café

    5 Princes Buildings, George Street, Bath, England

    Boasting a beautiful outdoor garden seating area, the Adventure Café is a popular spot with people stopping off for a relaxed drink during the day. Things get a bit livelier in the evenings, with plenty of punters coming in to enjoy the wines, beers, cocktails and funky music mix.

  • The Common Room

    This cosy bar and club is popular with locals who come to drink and dance in the boho chic atmosphere. Spread out over two levels, The Common Room features window seats and comfy couches in the upstairs level and a dancefloor off the main bar area downstairs. There’s a pool table too so if you don’t fancy shaking a leg you can always practice your skills with a cue.
