    Rowing disaster!

Had the time of our lives at this gorgeous place. We took a rowing boat out to the island as it was only 15 euros for 2 euros between all of us and the pletnas were charging 20 euros per person! The mountains allow for some excellent hiking trips and the weather was magnificent, even the thunderstorm just added to the beauty of the place!

Insider Tip:Vintgar gorge and the Labyrint gardens next to the castle are a must-see!

    Adventure town

Rafting, biking, hiking, rowing, canyoning and about a million other fantastic activities. Oh, and it looks like a scene out of a fairy tale, too.

Insider Tip:Rent bikes for a day to see Vintgar Gorge and ride around the lake. Hike around the back of the castle and you'll find some stunning views of the lake without having to pay to go inside!

    I like Bled.

Beautiful. It mostly rained but the scenery was dazzling in the couple hours when the sky cleared. Slovenian food is stellar. Slovenian people too. Friendly & cool, everyone we met could speak English. Bus is cheap and easy for getting back & forth to Bohinj, Ljubljana, etc. Not a lot going on other than outdoors stuff so hope for good weather.

    Insider Tip:Go.

    Bled... a great escape!

We were there in winter so the weather wasn't ideal, but it was good enough to take a stroll around the lake and hike up to the castle. The scenery is fantastic and I would definitely recommend Bled. It was a good break from seeing lots of cities on our world tour. I would love to go back to experience it in summer!

Insider Tip:Some of the boatmen who take you out to the island will try to rip you off. Don't let them charge you more than the standard 10 euro per person.

This was a beautiful town to be in. No great photographer am I, but I couldn't take a bad shot in this brilliant place. The only drawback was the locals were mostly unfriendly - only 2 or 3 exceptions- and some downright hostile.
