Transport in Bled, Slovenia

Getting There

By air: Ljubljana-Brink Airport is the closest international airport, and is 36 km from Bled. Taxis are the most direct option to get from the airport into the town, with many taxi companies from Bled picking up outside the airport’s main terminal.

By train: Bled’s main train station is Lesce-Bled, located around 5 km from the town. Services from many different destinations arrive here each day via Ljubljana or Villach in Austria.

By bus: Services from a wide range of European destinations arrive at Ljubljana bus station each day, with further connections to Bled then available. Ljubljana is approximately an hour by bus from Bled.


Getting Around

On foot: Due to its small size, it is possible to get around Bled on foot.

By boat: To get to the island on the lake you will have to use public transport in the form of a ‘pletna’ boat. These leave from various points around the lake at regular intervals each day.

By bicycle: Bicycles are another good way of getting around Bled, and it’s a great way to see more of the beautiful scenery around the town.
