With its eclectic cultural scene including a vibrant nightlife and an excellent showing in the performing arts, Bucharest is bound to delight night owls.
There isn’t one main area of Bucharest where all the nightlife can be found. Instead, you’ll come across a multitude of different venues scattered across the city. However, you will find a concentration of bars and clubs around Piata Uniril and Piata Romana. Lipscani is another popular area for nightlife.
Bars and clubs found all over Bucharest generally have pretty long opening hours, so no matter what the time there’s usually somewhere open.
If you are in the mood for a more cultural affair in the evenings, there are plenty of choices. Classical concerts are held in the Romanian Athenaeum, and the Romanian National Opera also has its home in Bucharest.
The city also hosts a lively music scene, with lots of venues showcasing everything from jazz bands to dance DJs.
A number of popular festivals are held in Bucharest throughout the year. Music plays a large part in these events with the international opera festival and the George Enescu Classical Music Festival among the annual offerings.
