While you’ll find some really great places to enjoy a night out in J-bay, the nightlife here is pretty laid-back in keeping with the town’s approach to life. In fact, some of the best places to check out if you’re looking for a tasty tipple or two are the town’s combination restaurants and bars.
You’ll find plenty of these along Da Gama Road, the main street in Jeffrey’s Bay. For example, along with delicious food you’ll find a great selection of cocktails, beer and wines at 3 Fat Fish and the Mexican. Over in Marina Martinique, Tapas offers a lively bar atmosphere along with its top-notch grub.
Two of the town’s coolest bars are the Moroccan Lounge and the Lounge, both of which are popular with a younger crowd and are also located along Da Gama Road. Despite their similar names, these bars are quite different. The Moroccan Lounge offers a smaller, more intimate setting, while the Lounge hosts live music in high season and has large indoor and outdoor seating areas.
If you’re not interested in pubs or if you just fancy an easy night out, you can check out either of the town’s cinemas. These are the Ocean Cine at the Wavecrest Centre on Da Gama Road or Fountains Cinemas at the Fountains Mall just outside of town.
