Liverpool boasts a wide variety of eateries from much-loved restaurants to funky cafés. You’ll find these scattered throughout the city’s various quarters so no matter where you are in Liverpool, you’ll never be far from the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

In the Georgian Quarter you’ll be able to sample everything from sandwiches to delicious desserts like the one pictured here. Pumpernickle’s on Mount Pleasant is a great choice for lunch on the go, thanks to its huge range of sandwiches which come with a multitude of fillings. Then there’s Everyman Bistro. Located underneath the popular Everyman Theatre, this equally popular eatery serves up everything from soups to chocolate tart.

For a tasty dinner at an affordable price, make sure to check out Tokyou on Berry Street, one of the many top-notch eateries you’ll find in and around Liverpool’s Chinatown. This place is really popular with locals and does a roaring trade. Another popular spot in the area is Tabac which serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed atmosphere.

If you want to get away from the city centre for a while, head on out to Lark Lane where you’ll find an array of places to have a delicious dinner including Keith’s, a wine bar with a boho atmosphere.

Back in the city centre, the Liverpool ONE shopping complex is home to a plethora of restaurants and cafés. These include Las Iguanas, which serves up a huge selection of authentic Latin American dishes.

What a Lark...

Huge windows welcome you into Keith's, a boho wine bar and restaurant on Liverpool's much-loved Lark Lane. The menu is written up on blackboards beside the bar and includes salads, toasted sandwiches, nachos, pasta, meat dishes and plenty more. Open Sun-Thurs 11am-midnight, Fri-Sat 11am-2am.

• Pumpernickle's

  This friendly spot serves up a huge selection of sandwiches with all kinds of different fillings, along with soups, jacket potatoes and more. Inside it’s pretty small with only a couple of tables, but it’s the perfect spot for lunch on the run. Their lunch bag special is particularly good value.

• Tabac

  126 Bold Street, Chinatown, Liverpool, England

  From full English breakfasts and pancakes in the morning to salads and sandwiches at lunch to a mouth-watering selection of main meals and tapas dishes in the evening, Tabac is a great choice at any time of day. The food served up at this funky café bar is very reasonably priced with plenty of entertainment to enjoy once you’ve eaten at night from live music to old movies.

• Everyman Bistro

  5 Hope Street, Georgian Quarter, Liverpool, England

  Located beneath the popular Everyman Theatre this bistro is the perfect spot for lunch. Split into two rooms, there’s the canteen-style restaurant and the bar area next door. Though it’s a busy spot, it still spots a relaxed atmosphere with low ceilings giving the place an intimate feel. On the menu you’ll find everything for soup and salads to pasta dishes, quiche and more. If you can, try to save room for one of the incredibly tempting desserts.

• Tokyou

  You know this noodle bar is a quality eatery by the never-ending stream of locals passing through its door to sit down and enjoy dinner. Tokyou is a busy spot serving up a huge selection of noodle and rice dishes. Portions are incredibly generous and prices are affordable so you’ll leave here with a full stomach and a happy wallet.

• Las Iguanas

  14 Paradise Street, City Centre, Liverpool, England

  One of the many restaurants you’ll find inside the Liverpool ONE shopping area, Las Iguanas is definitely one of the best. Here you’ll find a huge selection of authentic Latin American dishes offered at very affordable prices. The lunch and early evening set menu is especially good value and features everything from burritos to chilli.
