There’s no shortage of nightlife in Pretoria, with a variety of bars and clubs to choose from throughout the city.
Many of these are situated in and around the Hatfield area close to the University of Pretoria. This is a big student area, which is pretty obvious if you take a stroll through Hatfield Square in the evening when its bars are heaving with punters taking advantage of the cheap drinks and party atmosphere.
Eastwoods Tavern and Trademarx are popular watering holes close to the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, while Ting an’ Times on Arcadia Street is a great place to hear some live music.
If you’re looking for a bit more culture from your evening’s entertainment, check out the South African State Theatre where you can check out some of the dramatic performances. This complex also hosts plenty of other events including African music nights, comedy shows and much more.
