San Diego is a sunny and very warm city. I loved the weather. They are a lot of beaches and pretty parks. Also a wonderful waterfront and museums.

Insider Tip:The balboa park is beautiful and the zoo is the biggest in the world. But use the bus otherwise is a lot of walking.

City of beaches - time to unwind

If you're in the neighborhood, definitely travel to beautiful San Diego! Friendly people, beautiful beaches and perpetual awesome weather are hallmarks here. There's that definite SoCal vibe here, too - you see it in the architecture and the nature, but also in the people. It's not for nothing that it's called the City of Smiles: friendly folks abound! 9th safest city in the US as well - I think I met like three homeless people here, and at night the atmosphere is generally very pleasant.

Insider Tip:As a Dutchie, I was pleased to find SD relatively bike-friendly, and bike rentals for about a week can be surprisingly cheap! Save money on public transport or gas/rental, get some excercise and get everywhere in no time! :) Also, if you find yourself in Ocean Beach: head to the end of Newport Avenue for AMAZING ice cream, and the apparently famous waffle sandwhich (think a sandwhich, but with waffles and ice cream).

    Fun in San Diego

Living in Phoenix, we take lots of weekend trips out to San Diego. There are so many museums to explore and beaches to investigate. It's the perfect city for a weekend getaway. Weather is perfect. There are plenty of activities including yoga paddle boarding.

Insider Tip:Go to Belmont Park. They have Dole whip (just like Disneyland!), one of the oldest wooden roller coasters, and plenty of beach.

You Pay for what you get

Nice place to live if you like the big city, fast moving lifestyle. I love it. The public transit system is perfect. No one should own a car in downtown San Diego.

Insider Tip:Coming to downtown for the suburbs. park you car in Golden Hill around 25th and Broadway, then catch the bus downtown.
