I could move here! Fantastic city full of so much to see and do. Beautiful landscape, great food, bars galore, weather tolerable, people fun and engaging and easy to get around.

Insider Tip:Take a bike trip around Stanley Park. It's breathtaking!

    Great place to stay

Safe neighbor, clean bathroom, nice breakfast, great location and friendly atmosphere. It is a short walk to the downtown Vancouver shopping area and so probably 15 min walk to Stanley Park. Easy access to restaurants and bars and though the rooms are tiny, bathrooms are clean and nice, get cleaned everyday.

    Vancouver overnight

I only spent about 12 hours in Vancouver but really liked the city. There were a lot of fun restaurants, bars, clubs and shops all within walking distance. Tons of different styles for different people. Transportation to other parts of the city and BC are very convenient and easy.

Insider Tip:Okada sushi has great specials and is delicious! Try the pumpkin cake appetizer!

Granville Island is a gift Vancouver offers the world. Rent a bike and head over there for the day. When I was there last I was lucky enough to be there for the Honda Celebration of Light at English Bay beach, which I was also lucky enough to experience for the second time. This usually happens around end of July-early August, definitely check it out if you're there at this time! Vancouver is a beautiful city, also if in the budget I would recommend a boat cruise at night fall, stunning sights.

Insider Tip:Avoid East Hastings St. Especially at night. You will understand why I say this even if you visit during the day. Also bring an umbrella, it can start raining at any given moment.

Great city for young people as cities in Canada go. Lots to do and great proximity to other amazing places like the Rockies, Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, Seattle, and just the north-west coast in general.

Insider Tip:Coming from someone who grew up in nearby Victoria and visited Vancouver very often during her childhood: 1.) Avoid Ikea on boxing day 2.) UBC grounds are really nice to walk around 3.) Metrotown is hell, choose Granville or Robson street instead 4.) On weekends all transit fares are zone 1 prices, no matter how far you are going!

Canada: Itinerary

Located in the province of British Columbia, Canada’s third largest city is a traveller’s dream come true complete with a buzzing city centre and a host beaches, bays and lagoons. Add to this some great places to go shopping and a vibrant nightlife and it isn’t difficult to see why it is one of Canada’s most popular destinations.
