Eating Out in Vilnius, Lithuania

Unlike other Eastern European cities such as Tallinn, the influence of western-style restaurants hasn’t got in the way of the number of Vilnius’ eateries which specialise in Lithuanian gastronomy. Whether it is local or international dishes you wish to delve into, you can rest assured that it will be of a high standard.

One of the best areas in Vilnius for eating out in is around the Old Town. Whether it is a café or a restaurant, local cuisine or more local food, you are bound to find something to suit your taste in this part of the city.

If it is Lithuanian food you wish to try out, then some of the specialities you should be looking for are Kastinis which is butter and sour cream heated together in a clay bowl, Zeppelin which is mashed potatoes stuffed with meat and then fried, and Curd-fritter with potatoes.
