The botanical gardens were nice, but it is pretty similar to any other city--if you've been to San Francisco or Chicago, Wellington's pretty standard.
Insider Tip:It's a good place to start a trip, but I wouldn't spend more than a day in the city.

It's in the heart of the wellington. You're not too far from everything in wellington. Great atmosphere.
wellington is a very windy place indeed...just so you know. its great for sightseeing both on land and on sea. good shops, cuba street is interesting for eats and clothes.

New Zealand is one of the most popular countries in the world among backpackers. It is famed for its awe inspiring scenery thanks to an array of mountains, glaciers and lakes. If you like adrenaline sports this is one of the best countries in the world to do them. And as it is divided between a north and south island, not many countries in the world are as diverse as this one.
