    Great

300,000 people but it feels like a bigger city than that, (coming from a chicagoan). Walk everyewhere, public trans to airport is great, museums are cool and overall will go back and stay if/when i come back to NZ.

Insider Tip:Market on sunday by the harbor, cuba st., video game awesomeness at the museum, go check out the view from the harbor by way of the bridge by the library, i think it is called the city center. Very cool what they have done.

    Poker sized city

Wellington is tiny for a capital city, but there in lies its charm. It has plenty of character and a mass abundance of cafes, restaurants and bars too keep you entertained. There is plenty to do from walks up Mt Victoria and the botanic gardens, to visits to the national museum, the zoo or chill down by the waterfront. Definitely worth a visit!

    Wellington City Trip

We didn't have enough time to leave the city, so we spent most of the time right downtown. The botanical gardens were nice, but it is pretty similar to any other city--if you've been to San Francisco or Chicago, Wellington's pretty standard.

Insider Tip:It's a good place to start a trip, but I wouldn't spend more than a day in the city.

I've not been to the bar or to enter in any activities as I'm not a drinker and I'm in town for PhD fieldtrips.

Insider Tip:Pack your own towel and security lock
