    two worlds

zurich is a very good little get around, its not large and with a bike can be done very easily. there are plenty of things to do on foot too, like hiking up the hills that surround it or walking round the lake and also swimming in the lake. but where is stayed was completly different it was in the red light district of sorts and was alot of pubs and very very crazy people making for good drinking and even better people watching. these are two different worlds inside zurich. check out both

Insider Tip:hire a bike and keep on the move

The city center has not much to see; just some churches which are not so beautifully decorated. The river and lake are a good place to see. Also worth visiting are Rapperswil and Üetliberg. These are suburban areas. Üetliberg offers are a good view of Zurich from 2000 ft and can be reached in about 20 mins by S-Bahn.

Insider Tip:If you want to save on food expenses, the Coop supermarket near the central station has some ready to eat heated items. You may try those.

    Zurich: Don't miss it!

Absolutely fabulous city, very clean, open, and outdoorsy. We were only there for 3 days, two nights, and definitely wish we could have stayed longer. There is so much to do and see. Don't miss just wandering around old town, swimming in the river (up stream from Old Town; swimming in the river in Old Town is illegal), and exploring the parks along the river front and along Lake Zurich itself. The Old Town is rich with history, and the churches are lovely. The city seems welcoming to travelers.

Insider Tip:Rent bikes for free (20 Franc deposit) in the train station or near the Museum (immediately beside the train station). You should return them each night (rental closes at 9:30 pm), but you receive your deposit back and can rent again the next day. The city is easily walkable, but also definitely made for biking, and biking is the fastest way to see the city.
