Transport in Chile

Getting there

By air: The capital, and country’s main airport is Aeropuerto Internacional Arturo Merino Benitez and serves both international and domestic flights. There are aiports in the other big cities also.

By land: There is only one crossing via land to Peru between Tacna and Arica. Bolivia has a number of access points on land while there are numerous crossing points between Chile and Argentina.


Getting around

Different airlines present the option of getting around Chile by air. As this can prove costly, other widely used methods of transport for the traveller are the train or the bus, the latter being the more comfortable and reliable service.
