Eating out has a reputation for being quite expensive in Denmark. While some of its restaurants can be quite pricy, just as in any other country if you look hard enough you will find somewhere which is more than affordable.
The capital Copenhagen is up there with other European capitals in terms of the café culture and the choice of restaurants. Denmark’s other major cities also have an abundance of eateries (both budget and expensive) to choose from.
If you want to eat like a true Dane and sample their cuisines some of their specialities you should try include Smorrebread, a rye bread usually served as an open sandwich, frikadeller which are Danish meatballs and polse, the Danes’ own unique kind of hot-dog.
