Transport in Jamaica

Getting there:

By air: Jamaica has two international airports. The main one is called Donald Sangster International Airport which is just outside Montego Bay. The other is called Norman Manley International Airport and is in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital. As Jamaica is an island, flying is the easiest and most convenient way to get there. Direct flights depart from the UK, some destinations in Europe and North America.

Getting around:

There are four airports in Jamaica which serve domestic flights. Flying can be quite pricy so if you are a tight budget you might find the best way to travel is on buses. These can get busy and never stick to any timetables (if they have any) meaning they’re not very reliable. One upside with buses is that they are a great way to meet the locals.
