A&O never fall below a certain standard, but they don't rise above it either. This is a great factory of a place, in an unpleasant area of town, with fairly charmless staff, for the most part. This is a hotel, similar to ibis, etap or motel one. I had a double room and the price was pretty much the same as in one of the hotels mentioned... not as good though. What I consider to be really annoying is the surcharge for credit cards which is absolutely not uptodate anymore... as well as unfree internet. I do not recommend this place. **It doesn't have a kitchen** To call itself a hostel and not have even rudimentary cooking facilities (I can happily make do with a microwave, bowls and cutlery) is really quite wrong. You have to factor in eating out for every meal, and Dresden is not cheap. This really makes it quite poor value. It's really just a hotel with dorms. It's tidy, and the bathrooms are quite nice. Great hostel. Very much like a hotel (very big and really nice). Too far to walk to much but very close to a tram. Last minute we decided to come a day early and they were able to accomodate us. The hostel has a good location close to the train station. The staff has a bad attitude when it comes to simple questions and are not very helpful.
