Nice hostel and good value for money. Room was clean with aircon and lockers, and the staff were really friendly. I'd definitely recommend it to others. Also was very close to the MRT (subway...but above ground) which was convenient for getting around Manila.

All of my Filipino friends said that the area was not very safe. But the hostel was all right. Just take a cab to go there. From NAIA should only cost PHP 150.

The hotel is nice, we went for the cheapest rooms which were a bargain, these rooms needed a little work done to them, but for the price we got them for it was what we expected! Would stay here again. The restaurant and bar made are amazing!

Staff were really nice and the place was clean! Nicest dorm bathroom i've seen!! There is a lot of street noice, but I think Manila just has that downside everywhere. Bought earplugs for 45 pesos in the reception. Helped a lot!

The owner was great but didn't like the location. You could not walk to any where. And there were a limited number of bathrooms, pretty much 1 for 8 people.

Clear directions on how to get there. Close enough to Makati City's main interest points. Small but cosy place. Roof terrace very enjoyable for breakfast and 4 O'Clock beer! Very friendly and helpful staff. Good price!

Perfect place for couples. For me, this place was the most beautiful place of all Hotels there. It really creates a feeling of paradise. The beach is just walking distance away like all the other places nearby. Renting surfingstuff, motorbike or the other resorts (Hotels with contact to the sea) are just around the corner. Food was ok, but not really a big choice. Stuff really friendly and helpful.

the room is very clean and bed is comfortable, but cos the buliding is beside a busy road ,so it`s very noise even at night, but the staff are friendly and breakfast was not bad. it will cost around 160-200 peso take a white taxi from the air.except the very noisy road which make a little hard for sleep, other things are very nice and also good for money!

The hostel is in a dodgy area and has a busy road passing right in front of it, making rooms extremely noisy. The staff member I met was very unhelpful. He checked me into a female dorm. When I told him this he did not believe me. I had to convince him that it was in fact a female dorm. In my new room there was no pillow. Again he did not believe me. I had to show him. He then went into the female dorm, started arguing with a girl, and came out again with a pillow. Again he insisted it was clean

I was very skeptical first but the stay turned out okay. The owner is a wonderful guy and our lives got a lot easier once we met him. The staff's English is hit & miss and the hostel does not accept credit/debit cards so be sure you have cash! The area is fairly sketchy but I gather all of Manila is that way; security seemed sufficient. If you are just passing through it is good value for your money. The street is LOUD so request a high room or bring earplugs. Nice rooftop terrace.

Great place to stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful, would stay here again. The dorms are on a main road so can be loud with the traffic but that's the only downside!

This was actually my second time staying at this hostel. I will admit. I've stayed at a lot of hostels all around the world and I must give Garrie the owner props. He sure makes you feel welcomed to Manila. Both times I've stayed at his hostel, he's taken guest's out to the local filipino hot spots. Always giving advice on how much things "actually" cost in the Philippines and has even gone out of his way to drop me off at local spots to run errands and get acclimated. Highly recommended!!

I stayed here in 1 River Central from Dec 8 to Dec 9. It was so nice to stay and have a conversation with foreigner. I like this hostel's location because It was easy to reach to MRT station where it would take less than 10 minutes. I got to Makati city by MRT easily. I appreciated hostel's owner who is very kind and hospitable. I asked him lots of things that he taught me carefully. If I could be here in the Philippines, I would want to stay here in the hostel again. Thanks for everything.

Pleasantly surprised by my stay at 1 River Central. In comparison to many hostels that I have previously stayed in, this one was the cleanest! The place was very new, the staff extremely friendly and accommodating and the location convenient. The safety deposit boxes were a plus. I particularly liked the rooftop and the accessibilty to transport and Rockwell. Great value for money!

I was very impressed with this hostel. The first thing I noticed was now clean the place was and compared to other places I've stayed before, this hostel actually had an area where one could sit outside, meet other guests or just read a book. It is also good value for money. The best thing about this hotel is it's close proximity to the airport, rooms are very clean and the staff is excellent! I would recommend it to anyone. I will definitely be back there when I visit Manila again.
