We had a great time in Rome and in the hostel, the staff had been very kind and they gave us useful information as concern eating and what to visit and how to move in town. The room was large and comfortable, the hostel is very near to St peter and to metro station, so you can easily go wherever you want.

Overall a pretty nice place to stay, and I would stay there again. The staff was really nice and our room was great. The only issue is that there are three bathrooms for guests to use, and out of those only ONE had hot water!!! I was always able to shower there, but in the morning it would have been tough. Other then that, we had a nice stay... but could use more than cereal and packaged breads for breakfast, since it calls itself a "B&B".

Top class place. Friedrich was extremely welcoming. Hostel is immaculate and has all the facilities that one could ask for. Best bakery in Rome is around the corner. Will definitely go back.

The staff was very nice and helpful. It was located only 2 blocks from the metro and 5 blocks from the Vatican. The area is residential but, since it's near the Vatican, also tourist friendly. I wasn't afraid of walking around by myself at any point of the day. I was in a single room and I felt safe. The apartment building is beautiful. I felt more at home and less at a hostel/ B&B. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing host, so friendly and informative. Always a pleasure to talk to and made us feel so comfortable all the time! Lovely open, airy room with air con and comfortable beds. Breakfasts really nice with lots of choice and the most amazing coffee machine - best coffee I've ever had!

Good location close to the Vatican City as you want to wake up early to line up for it! Near Subway which made it very convenient to get around to other places. Place was very clean and spacious!

Everything was great! I would definitely recommend this B &B. The only drawback was we had to pay in cash for our full stay when we checked in. We wanted to check out a day or two early and were told we could not get our money back.

This hostel was incredible! The staff is caring and helpful in giving the top places to visit as well as recommendations of restaurants to eat at to enjoy a real Italian meal. The rooms are spacious and incredibly clean. The location of this hostel is prime as it is a short walk to the Vatican and is very close to a Metro stop that will take you to all other areas of the city. Overall, this hostel is FANTASTIC!

Easter 2013 in Rome we'll remember forever, because we spent it in that charming hostel near the Vatican. The host's family was very polite, understanding and helpful, and above all, patience. We've received the map of Rome, post cards and a delicious speciality especially for Easter, which has been made by Mrs. Vernarelli. We would really like to return to that wonderful place and once again visit Rome with your travel guide in polish. Greetings, Anna, Kasia & cat Raisa

1 Step from St Peter and Friedrich, were great! My wife and spent two nights with no complaints and had a wonderful visit to Rome and the Vactican. Friedrich, was very helpful and gave great advice for dining! The room, bathroom, and common area were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was above average. Free WiFi! We would definitely stay again a great value! Thank you very much!

Central location, more character than a "normal "Hotel, very clean. Very helpful and service minded owners, giving good local recommendations on restaurants and helpful tips how to approach the historic sites, to avoid queues etc. Thank you!

Lots of character. Convenient location. At least bilingual (Italian & fairly good English). We had comfortable, clean beds with extra pillows and blankets handy. We enjoyed plenty of hospitality and generosity, plenty to eat and drink, and they seem to enjoy having people in their place. We got lots of advice on where to go and how to get around. In the end we were glad we stayed there even though it was a bit pricier than usual, maybe due to the holidays.

Fantastic stay at 1 Step from St Peter. I was at the B&B over new years and the owners put on great New Years Eve dinner and drinks for all the guests. It was an excellent night. The facilities were great. The complimentary coffee was great too. The hospitality shown was second to none!

NO DOUBT THE BEST! The room is beautiful and cozy, with excellent location. The owner is very nice and helpful, giving us great advices on how to visit Rome, what to take care of and what to eat (and the food he recommended is very delicious). We had a wonderful Christams there:) My friend said there should be a higher ranking for this place, to distinguish it from the other hostels :)
