no locks on the doors so any one can walkin and pinch anything. basic hostel wouldnt stay more than couple off days if that

Great hostel. Free BBQ every night we stayed & it was a decent meal too. we loved our time in 1770 backpackers. staff were friendly & helpfull

This was a fairly nice hostel. Even through it wasa 10 bed dorm there was still loads of space andit was very clean. The bad side was that there was only 2 plug sockets in the room - to share between 10 people! Also there is no locks on any of the doors - but apperently there is no locks on any hostel doors in 1770. The Free BBQ was pretty good. I booked this hostel on the advertisment that there was free surf lessons every day when infact it is only on Sundays- a miss misleading!
