Staff were really friendly and made our stay enjoyable

Room smelt damp, bed was noisy and uncomfy, springs poking out. Kitchen was dirty and as it was outside it was full of bugs. Bar no longer open, the place seems run-down. I know places never look as good as the photos but the photos on here are deceiving. Only good thing was the staff who organised a trip to this lovely kangaroo sanctuary.

A friendly enough hostel, clean and tidy a relaxed atmosphere.

Really nice and helpful staff, unfortunately there was a cyclone on and a lot of rain so I am hoping that is why there was such a lack of atmosphere because it has really good potential, loved the outdoor deck, but the bar area was closed and there was no one having any fun (except our group). The room was nice and the staff was kind enough to let us check in late and helped out with a shuttle.

The hostel was clean and quiet. They come and pick you up from the Greyhound bus stop, thats good. The beach is near, but to get to the secured part of it, you have to have a little walk. Free wifi is pretty good.

Was in a 6 person dorm on my own. A bit boring. It rained a lot. The hostel offert to bring people with the b6s to town, but you have to pay. Hostel was far away (15 min walk) from the town. In the hostel there was not much to do. Very quiet.

We only stayed for a couple of nights, but we had a good time. There is not much going on in 1770 itself but the hostel had some good vibes. There is a huge room where you can hang out, a nice open kitchen where there are always people cooking (or heating water for their noodles). The rooms a very tidy, the bathroom get's cleaned often and the staff always tries to keep the kitchen clean as well. You should have a great time over there. Enjoy!

Kitchen wasn't ever clean. Not enough cutlery. Free wifi was great!

The place had potential but it didnt really reach it. With a little bit more inspiration from the owner and the staff this hostel could be a great place. Ex: There was free breakfast with Weetabix and milk (so far so good). But somewhere around 30 guest and only 4 bowls to eat from just doesnt do it. Just a small example of how small improvements could be made with a little bit more inspiration. Fullfill your potential!

This was probably the best hostel i've stayed in.
