I really enjoyed my short stay at beachside backpackers! Nice rooms with own bathroom, great kitchen area (good equipment like BBQ, sandwichtoaster, microwaves...) Free breakfast. This has been the best breakfast I have ever had in hostels in australia. (A great variety of bread (not just the cheapest white toast) also tea, coffee, jam, marmelades..) Close to the beach, own pool

I absolutely loved this Hostel! Thanks to Oscar again for picking me up!

I'd book with another hostel

Dear, We were happy to see that you thought so highly of our staff. We think they are pretty amazing too! However, it was unfortunate to hear that your time at Beachside 1770 was not up to par. If you're ever back in Agnes Waters again and give us another chance at Beachside 1770 again we would happily accept any direct reviews you can share with us so that we can work on making them better for you and our other guests. Cheers! Management

Staff were lovely, very friendly and willing to help. A nice relaxed hostel with free wifi and breakfast. Cleanliness could have been better.

Hey! Thanks for the review! We are happy you were able to enjoy the amenities while you were here. We are working on improving our cleaning standards day by day. We hope to see you again. Cheers, Brittany

Stayed here for four nights in a double room, which was spacious with a good ensuite and fairly clean. Only a 10/15min walk to the shops and supermarket and 5mins to the beach. On the other hand the kitchen was open sided and so quite dirty but you get what you pay for. The staff were a mixed bag, some didn't seemed interested in helping whereas two of the boys were really friendly and welcoming and more than made up for the other's lack of enthusiasm with their helpfulness and approachability.

Chilled hostel, good for a stop over. Beds a but dirty but clean sheets, lots of plug sockets too. Free toast and tea/coffee always a winner. Cheap surf lessons and close to beach. I would recommend for a short stay in 1770, if you don't mind a basic hostel!

Hey, We are happy to hear that you had a great time surfing. Being close to the beach has its advantages! Thanks for the recommendation. Cheers! Brittany

When you want to spent some relaxed days in Agnes Water, the Beachside Hostel offers you a quiet and lovely atmosphere. You reached the city in less than 10 minutes and the beautiful beach is just around the corner. The cheap price includes FREE breakfast till 10 am, FREE billiard, FREE working WIFI;) and a several selection of movies. They clean up the rooms each day and the kitching offers everything you need for cooking. All in all we have spent 3 very nice and relaxed days here.

We were very disappointed with the welcome we received . We were not offered any information about the facilities at the hostel and we had to ask a lot of questions to get any information about the area. There was no genuine interest from the female at reception in fact we were a nuisance it felt. So much so that we just left early in the morning to head to our next destination. The poorest service to date on our travels.

First of all there's not a lot to do in Agnes Water/1770 so the atmosphere was lacking to begin with but I found the place to be dead somewhat. Room smelt a bit funny, had safes but didn't work? No hot water in our room at all despite being "fixed". Freezing cold rooms at night. The place was relatively clean and close to the beach and a gold free shuttle from the greyhound but not a lot else!

Lovely helpful staff. Quiet hostel with clean comfortable beds. Near the beach and shuttle from the greyhound bus. Really enjoyed a relaxing stay here! Thanks

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were ensuite which was good. The cleanliness of the hostel was very poor and lacking atmosphere. There was nothing to do in the evenings and outdoor lights were off by 9/10pm. We were in bed by 11pm.

The staff really make this place! Got picked up by their bus when we got off the greyhound by Ray their bus driver who had great chat. Was then Greeted by the manager Julie and staff member Marco when we arrived and could not be made more welcome. Free toast and WiFi is really a bonus but it really is a home from home ... Really feels like you're saying goodbye to family when you leave :(

Really nice hostel for a short stay. Decent facilities in the common area. Rooms were fine, pretty standard, although beds not too comfy and very very squeeky!! One other down side was the tension between staff. Very inappropriate and unprofessional right in front of customers, all because they don't all seem to get on. That can really let down a business.

Mattresses were abysmal, could feel all the springs and really dirty. Nobody around and nothing to do. Laundry room largely unavailable due to staff cleaning duties.
