There was no common room for cold evenings, so we went to bed quite early. As our room was located directly next to the kitchen and people were cooking untill 11 pm it was impossible to sleep, especially because the Fire Alarm went of 3 Times. The kitchen is a bit too small, and the showers were cold. Probably a nice Place in the Summer but not during Winter.
One of the best hostels I've been to. Not too crazy but the grounds, staff, and facilities were all really great. The only possible drawbacks might be that it is perhaps a half hour walk to town. They do have a pickup/dropoff service every two hours that take greyhound bus schedules in to account. They didn't give anyone a room key but they did have the option to put valuables behind the desk. If they could add lockers to the rooms, then Id have not even thought twice about it.
Very cool and well spread out hostel set in a beautiful landscape. The bar area was great with table tennis and pool table. Couldn't bring your own alcohol in which can be costly for travellers on a budget. We stayed in a twin room which was really nice although there are no locks on any of the doors and no lockers in the room. Big concern that anyone can wander into your room and there is no where to lock away your valuables. Overall it was a good experience but security needs to be improved
This is a great wee getaway! The design of this hostel is open air and rustic. A proper authentic ranch feel about the place. The owners have put some thought into the design! There is lots of space and they have a pool out front that is surrounded by Palm trees. It really is a little paradise break to rest the liver beteween Fraser Island and the Whitsundays! It is a couple of km out of town but they have a regular shuttle bus so don't let that out you off. Free wifi in the communal area!!!
Average hostel, nice for a couple of days stay, nice and chilled, nothing much around there but mini bus goes to centre. There is a noise curfew of 10pm but the staff don't even stick to this as they were noisy at night. Nice simple hostel cheap enough if you don't want anything fancy.
Wasn't too concerned about security I've stayed in plenty of hostels in Australia and never felt the need to lock my room but would of liked to be able to lock my room when going off site , no other real concerns I would definitely stay again as the atmosphere was great and the staff was very welcoming and helpful, thanks for a memorable stay southern cross 😊

Another hostel that has a pre-occupation with shutting the kitchen at 9.30pm, which was irritating because I didn't arrive until 8:45pm, having driven north to escape tropical cyclone Marcia in Yeppoon. Signs everywhere warn you that unwashed dishes incur a $5 fine but I wasn't allowed to quickly return and wash a dish that I didn't get time to take back, even though staff continued to enter and use the kitchen until gone 10:15pm. Not enough plug sockets in the dorm either. Bit average really.
Amazing resort-style hostel just outside of Agnes Water. The pool area was great to chill out in and the staff were really friendly, regular shuttle buses into agnes water too! The rooms were pretty basic but absolutely fine for a couple of nights. Bathrooms were back in the common area and not very private. Also, the dorms didn't lock and the doors would randomly swing open all the time! Locking wasn't a problem as it felt very safe there but the door was pretty annoying. Overall a good stay!
