Great place, centrally located. Shared bathrooms were kept very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only negative is its a bit more than I wanted to pay for a room with a shared bathroom.

really enjoyed staying here. The breakfast was very basic but it was such a cheap hostel that it didn't really matter. It's quite a bit from the tourist area but it's near the catacombs and a few museums which is good. food is a lot cheaper in brena than miraflores which is another added bonus. Make sure you learn Spanish if you are staying in brena otherwise it's very difficult to get what you want.

The staff is working hard all day and keeps the bathrooms, kitchen showers clean. Verfy friendly, close to downtown and easy to take bus to beaches. Comfortable bed, I was able to get a good rest, hot shower and breakfast before heading out in the morning. Thanks!! Will highly recommend this cool hostel.

Great location in the centre of Lima, friendly staff. Rooms are okay with large lockers and wifi works all around the place. The traffic from streets in the neigbourhood may be a little noisy.

Simple but effective, decent staff, fairly cheap nights stay, good location for historic centre and good value markets/shops, not far or expensive by taxi to the coast

This hotel is well located, I can recommand it because it is easy to go from one place to the other in Lima. I just thought it was a bit loud.

The place was alright. Building and facilities are nice, but it was SO noisy at night with the street noise, and the constant honking. Impossible to sleep without earplugs. Not so far from the historic part of town, but may be a bit far to walk also. Locals told me that this part of town was a bit dangerous at night.

Since Lima has almost 10 million people, its expected to be noisy as other big metropolis. Sorry about that, but we can not help it. 1900 is in the historic center, in front of the Art Museum and across the street of the Metropolitan Museum too. To walk to the furthest landmark in the historic center from 1900 takes only 25 minutes. To the closest just one minute. Anyway, there are so many things to see around. Regarding the safetiness, we have never had any problem with robberies. What you have to be careful in Lima aswell as in any other cities in South America is about pick pockets. They are always looking for distracted tourists. Its all about being careful and aware. The historic center is not more dangerous than other places in Lima. I would say its safer since most of the thieves who are looking for potential targets are in the more touristic areas of Lima.

I had a great time staying at this hostel. The staff was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the comfortable beds and comforters. The place has a nice home away from home feeling to it, with hot showers, light breakfast and bar with a cool balcony.

Impressive colonial style building with good facilities. Its right across the road from a nice park to chill out in and has a supermarket nearby. Generally clean for a hostel of this size. The owner clearly takes pride in the running of the hostel. Quite noisy in the mornings due to the constant honking of traffic. If you are in one of the dorms off the main the lobby, the evenings can also be noisy due to the music of the bar area. All-in-all I recommend staying here.

Helpful staff, great location, clean comfy beds and breakfast included. Can´t ask for anything more, especially when the nightly rate is so low! Recommended.

Muito bem localizado no centro de Lima. Um pouco longe da praia para quem gosta. Muito proximo ao Polvos Azules que é um otimo centro de compras. Proximo ao parque das fontes. A parte ruim é o buzinaço.

Arrived late to hostel and found out no water for shower. There is no water supply at night in these area, so you won't get any water if hostel are fully book at night. All shower rooms were so dirty and smell bad, i think it has not been cleaned for a long period. The kitchen so small, without all proper facilities. No convenient to charge appliances in the room. There is no atmosphere in hostel, it just for sleep and go. The staffs no so friendly, they would not like to talk after briefing

Great location. Minutes from Plaza de Armes, short bus to Mariflores and lots of parks close buy. Big old mansion converted. Lots of Character. Pretty busy spot but shuts down at a decent hour. Good showers and Internet.

It's fine. I don't have anything bad to say but it's just a regular big city hostel. Very noisy, so so showers, no towels or locks to borrow. Nice people and in a good spot but not a really great deal for your money in Peru.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hola, paying US$8 for a bed/night is not deal? Its a steal. You have breakfast included, free computers for guest use, free WIFI, bar with lots of amenities, etc, sincerely we dont know what were you expecting. Regarding the towels, yes, we rent them just to cover the price for washing them. Sorry, but US$8 a night does not cover our cost for the towels. On the other hand, we recommend you not to borrow any pad lock anywhere. Buy your own, they are not expensive at all. If you borrow a padlock then you do not know who has the key too, so your valuables wont be secure. This is just an advise. Thanks for your comment.

first of all, the staff is nice and this old building has charme. but the location is not the best, even taxidrivers warned us not to go out at night in this area. the house is unfortunately not "renovated". there are no oportunities to charge your stuff in the rooms. the bathrooms are really dirty, no matter what time of the day. we changed place after two nights.

Owner Comment (Show)
if you believe on what taxi drivers say, then you will end up where they want. They get commision for driving you to restaurants, museums and of course hostels, hotels and any kind of accomodation. We advise always everyone about that in our confirmation email. The same is done in many other cities in the world (specially if u travel to some countries in Asia, Africa, and South America). So now you know. We have never had any problem with our guests. Not Renovated? Well, it has new plumbing, wiring, fixed everything. Anyways, we can not please everyone. And regarding the chargin issue, we have special lockers with outlets inside so you can charge your electronic devices safely and locked. May be the staff did not tell you upon arrival, sorry about that. Hope you have fun in your trip. Thanks
