It's in a great location. The building is beautiful... They have retained lots of features. However, with that it was dusty. The staff were helpful.

This is our "staple" hostel while traveling the country. The staff is AMAZING, they make you feel at home and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. It's a fun atmosphere for young travelers but also quiet for those who want to sleep! We have stayed there 2 times now and have just booked or 3rd stay this trip! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hostel:)

hostel is in a beautiful building. The bar on site is nice but it gets super noisy if you are planning to sleep before midnight. The staff experience is very mixed, the guy from Luxembourg is fantastic and had so many great tips. The girl was super grumpy bordering on rude most of the time.

At the reception Mr. Julian and Ms. Mariana were super helping hands, courteous and accommodating.. The cleaning boys were quiet but efficient and non -intrusive., cleaned the bathrooms throughout the day.

1900 Backpackers is the ideal hostel to start of your South American trip. Its close to the city centre and just a short bus ride from Miraflores and Barranco. They also offer travel help to book buses and day trips to the rest of Peru. The bar was great and the people behind it even better. They do have a sister hostel in Cusco and offer discount for anyone who plans to stay in both. This place is great if you are looking to find your feet before exploring the rest of the country/continent.

Very nice inside the hostel. Was a renovated mansion. For the price really nice place. Good bar area as well with happy hour specials and pool/foosball and sound system open to anyone. Shared bathrooms very clean and nice hot showers. Free breakfast pretty basic but still something to get u going for day

If you want to stay in Lima, but don't want to stay in Miraflores, this is a good option. Lima centro is certainly more local and less touristy than Miraflores.

This hostel is very conveniently located in the downtown Lima, very close to all of the main attractions around central Lima. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially Mariana, Julian and the manager. Loved the architecture of the hostel as it was built just before 1900, hence the name. It was majestic to stay in such an historic building in a historic town. A basic breakfast was provided.

The hostel looks very nice. It is an old building with tall roofs. The breakfast was too small but the staff nice.

The hostel was good, the stuff really friendly and helpful. Toilets and shower were ok and clean. The whole hostel was cleaned well. Only thing is that our room had no windows. Would stay there again if in Lima.

Claudia was very helpful with booking our Huacachina & Machu Picchu trips! Sabashton greeted us at the door when we arrived at 3 am and was helpful in getting us settled in. Marianna fulfilled any inquires we had and was willing to help us whenever she was in. And lastly, there was Julian who gave us great places to go and eat or site see. I'd definitely go there again if I'm in Lima!

A really great hostel, very helpful staff, and a lively atmosphere. Also a good location, only about a 10-15 minute walk to the center of the city.

Nice hostel with a fun bar area.

Cold, smell like mold and a cheap breakfast is served.

Nice place in an historic building across from the Lima museum of art and close by to a bunch of central Lima food, attractions, etc. Light breakfast included in room fee and cool bar area with pool table and music videos playing. Friendly enough staff though they're a bit rough til you get to know them. I've already returned once for an additional stay and will likely be back again the next time I'm in Lima.
