This is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in! Staff incredibly helpful, location excellent and exceptionally clean. Full of little extras like toast in the morning, plugs and lights by your bed and milk for your tea that make all the difference. If I ever go back to Taipei I will definitely stay here.

I had a wonderful one-night stay at the 1983 Hostel. The location is really convenient (near the NTU campus, so there's a lot of great food to try and things to do). I loved the basement lounge area. It was really quiet, and they had a decent selection of books to read. The bunks in the room were really comfortable, too, with their own reading light, curtain, etc. Anyway, pretty nice hostel. Definitely recommend it.

1983 is one of those gems you find every once in a never (okay a while). The atmosphere (brightly lit, rooms open to a spacious common area, family like) is friendly and helpful. There is a natural tendency to socialize as access to the necessary facilities pass through the main area. The bunk beds are of high quality and very comfortable; each is bunk is furnished with a curtain that provides privacy and darkness. The lighting is a soft warm glow that illuminates without being overly bright.

The hostel is in a very convenient location (in the university area and is walking distance from Shida Night Market). The bed and pillows are good but I am not sure if the linens they gave me are clean or has been used by another guest. The interiors are so posh and the shower room and toilet are the best (they use a lot of wood - it's very stylish). The wifi Internet connection is strong. but often, the room stinks. I hope that they offer towel rental services for their guests soon. Average.

On of the best, if not the best hostels in Tapai. I have enjoyed my stay here, and the staff are very helpful. The hostel is very new and the fecilites are very good. If you lve a home feel you will be at home here . The bouns of this place is a big tv, comfy couches and a very good place to haung out. The staff go out of there way to help you. The beds are good, and the room are big for tapai. I would stay here again.

Great hostel! It's located next to Shida night market so it's easy to go out and try some typical Taiwanese food, and there are lots of convenience stores around so you can buy anything you want when you need it. The hostel is modern, neat, clean and conveys a home like atmosphere. The owners are really nice and can speak English so it's easy to talk to them even if you don't speak Chinese! They're always willing to help you out and trying to make your stay more comfortable. I highly recommend it

It's a wonderful experience to stay in 1983 Hostel, especially it keeps so cosy and quiet while it is located in a crowded and popular section. It feels just like home when i stay at lounge area, btw, i love the bed so much! Staff are friendly and helpful. Besides, it really surprise me about all the thoughtful things around. I definitly will come back next time.

So considerate to provide two pillows coz I love using laptop on the bed. The staff are so passionate about their job and try hard to make each traveller feel like at home. For that They also love travelling, thus we both enjoyed exchanging our travelling stories with each other.
