great place to stay and very good value for money with a super friendly host! paradise compared to other backbackers as you have your own space, privacy and facilities that offer all you need... huge bed, pool, clean bathroom, tv, etc it´s only a 10min walk to the waterfront and not far from bars, restaurants, supermarkets,... highly recommended for people that enjoy some peace and quiet and are tired of the average backpacker madness =)

I stayed for 3 days over Christmas this year and had an excellent stay. The accommodation was secure, clean and a big double room. The location is hard to beat being just round the corner from the main strip of pubs restaurants and clubs in GreenPoint. It is also only a 15min walk to the Waterfront. Mark was really helpful and friendly. Will highly recommend. David - Durban.

We had a great stay at Braemer 21. You get a lot for the money you pay. I recommended it to people coming to Cape Town for a holiday already and would definitely recommend it to others as well!

Mark is a great host, along with his two pooches Sven and Sasha. He was always on hand to offer advise on where to go and what to do, and suggested climbing up table mountain via the route platterklipp gorge and even gave us his guide book. The climb was quite tough, and we were cursing his name, especially as he told us that he used to run up the route in his youth :-) put us to shame we were knackered just climbing up it let alone attempting to run up it!

I already have written to you in my letter: Mark is an excellent housekeeper. He gave as help with all that we needed. He created a friendly atmosfhere and made us feel at home.. This kind of room is much better than a fancy hotel. We had two rooms in one we had TV,fridge, a microwave and a waterkettel. We could make our own morning as we use to at home. Outside in the garden when there was a sun and inside otherwise. We could walk to the waterfront and shop in a dely in a big street close.

Satisfactory overall, the weaknesses being excused by reasonable rates and excellent location. But in winter there needs to be a more reliable heater... the room was bitterly cold.

The host, Mark, was very friendly and helpful - gave us a vuvuzela for the World Cup!!! He provided us with info on transfers to/from the airport before we arrived, also. Big room, good bathroom. Definately recommend it.

In one word GREAT. A big thanks to Mark our host who made our stay such a pleasant one. Braemar road isIdeally situated, walking distance from the sea-front and the house itself is set back from the road meaning peaceful nights are guaranteed - a big bonus for weary but intrepid travellers:) We loved being there and we certainly won't hesitate in going back when in Cape Town. Stayed 6-8 Jan 2009. Mark made us feel at home via email even before we arrived. Enjoyed a lovely sunset with him & his dogs at the beach. Room, kitchen & bathroom were clean, comfortable & situated in wonderful location in Cape Towm..walking distance from Waterfront & city bowl, with beaches few minutes drive away. Had a great time at this peaceful house. Not for party animals..more for relaxed couple who seeks good location, space, facilities & a quiet night's sleep:)
