The hostel is decent. The staff is nice and polite, and the location is good. Beds are comfortable. There were several issues though: 1. The walls are pretty thin - so you can hear everything that is going on in the common areas. 2. The windows are wooden and old - so they let in cold air from the outside. There is tape on the windows to "prevent" this, but with Moscow temperatures it doesn't quite work out. 3. The bathrooms are old and soviet looking... which isn't too pleasing.

This is a hidden gem that will one day grace the pages of Lonely Planet. The director Anna, and her father Dmitri, run a a great place that is nestled in between 3 metro stops, and is a 20-minute walk to Red Square. Both speak good English, and can help with reservations, questions or even ordering pizza for delivery after a long day of sight-seeing. The place is very clean, has lockers, comfortable beds, and linen is provided.
