Perfect place in the city, did the job, very affordable. One frosty receptionist but another was helpful and gave pointers about where to go. General vibe of the place was quite aloof but lovely building

This hostel is great - nice lobby area to get a drink and meet other people, big spacious rooms, friendly staff. We didn't try the breakfast or use the kitchen but it seemed well stocked. Had no trouble getting a shower in the mornings. Really good value and in a good location! It is a bit rough around the edges but so is Berlin.

I was staying in the hostel for five days and within those five days there were only other guests in my eight bed dorm once, So I got to stay in the heart of Berlin for 10 euros a night in a big room of a nice hostel by myself, My friend was staying in a four bed dorm and he was the same with just himself in his room for four out of five days. Nice place with decent staff and great location. I would highly recommend it.

Had a lovely stay in Berlin, but mainly due to the fantastic location we picked and the weather. The staff at the hotel were nice enough and the girl who was on reception when we arrived was very helpful. But on one of the nights we came back a chap who was on reception until 2am, spent the entire time on his laptop and despite us asking several questions about what there is to do in Berlin he didn't seem to give us any answers! I would stay in Kreuzberg again, but possibly not here.

It was difficult to find it, a small street in the middle of nowhere. When I came there, the lobby were full of people and I had to wait for maybe half an hour before I even got noticed. The receptionist wasn't friendly and he was insecure. I paid and I got my key but he didn't even tell me where the room was. When I finally found it, there was no mattresses in some beds and no pillows either. It was also cold and very noicy. I slept for maybe 5hours and then I left. The only good thing: cheap.

I believe that besides the price is very good, they need to work it out the bathroom, because its really bad. Its not a nice place to take a shower even for free.

The location is good but rooms are not that clean... Lokcers in the rooms, kitchen ok, the hostel is not to bad. Definitely not my favorite hostel, but if you are looking for a cheap hostel in a very cool aera, this is also not a bad option.

- Clean rooms and clean-ish bathrooms (although the stairwell leading up to the rooms was a bit dingy and dank). - Pretty relaxed atmosphere. - Staff were present but not overly involved. - Could be a little cold. - Overall a mostly comfortable stay.

good location and nice building, big rooms with lots of space but dirty bathrooms, , thin mattresses, get charged extra for your linen. wifi is stolen from another net source, not hostel provided and does not appear to be on secure network. kitchen is disguting and tiny, they need to clean out their fridge!

I like 36rooms very much. It has nice interior decor that reminds me of a old fairy tales. You can feel there like a princess! (At least in the common room :). I liked also that the kitchen and common area were clean.

This hostel is dark, dingy, cold, and smells like cigarette smoke everywhere. I only stayed for one night with my GF in a mixed room and felt uncomfortable about everything in the hostel. I would have rather stayed up all night than stayed in this hostel. The only perk is that it's close to some good clubs in Berlin and fairly close to the east side gallery.
