The location and transportation access is a high point . The staff was very accommodating and had really usablel local knowledge.
A good hostel with the potential to be a great hostel. Beds were nice and comfortable. The cafe/bar was reasonably priced and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The guest kitchen was seemingly a woeful afterthought, only slightly better than having no kitchen and the upstairs lounge area is in definite need of some work. The location was very good though, a bustling side street not far from the subway and Tiananmen Square. I'd recommend it for sure but don't expect the 'best hostel ever'.
Very good food!!! Quite noisy on the first floor, because the people from the bar were always coming in to use the toilets, second floor much better!
Nice guesthouse, in the core of Beijing. be aware if you get the ground floor rooms, you'll have a noise coming from the bar area. the bar is really great, have a breakfast before touring, have a last beer before bad. food is nice.
I stayed in the 10 bedroom most of the time since it was the cheapest. I had to give a deposit on a non-existent key. The 10 person room needs more security. They let anyone in. A girl had her boyfriend sleeping there who never was paying to stay there. The only place to converse with others is the bar and its kind of loud but the location is great! a 10 minute walk to Tianamen's square and 15 to the Forbidden city. Shopping is AMAZING. They even offer tours, which I would recommend taking.
As a chinese, I'm very satisfied about the staff's service. They are nice and friendly, even though I'm chinese. (It sounds strange, but I actually experienced discrimination in the other youth hostel in Beiijing, because I' m not foreigner :P). The water in the bathroom is very warm, and the bathroom and toilet is very clean. The double room is a little bit noisy though. And it is just bed and very white wall, like prison. dormitory is much more cosy, but it's not open to. from mainland china.

Always a pleasure staying in this hostel. I won't be back for a long time. When I left I got hugs from the staff. Honestly, I consider the staff here like family. So friendly, fun and always here to help! You will not regret staying at this hostel! Love you guys! :) x
This hostel is in an excellent location; located in the Dashilar area right next to the Tiananmen Square. The staff is very helpful in answering questions--- all speak English very well. The only down side to this hostel is that the bar is located in the front next to the reception desk. It gets rather loud at night. I'd advice you--if you want a quiet private room-- don't stay on the 1st floor (or close to the reception desk) as people are continually going back and forth to the bar.
The location was not bad, the staff was generally helpful, but most of the time it looked like we are actually bothering them by asking for advice. The rooms (one mixed 2 bed with a shared bathroom and the second twin ensuite) were clean, bathrooms rather old, especially the shared bathroom. The only thing we didn't like was the smokey restaurant through which you have to go through on your way in/out.
Always love staying at this place. The bar can get busy and loud in the evenings. But besides that everything is excellent. Good service and very helpfull staff that all speak English very well.

Nice place to have a drink, meet other travelers and sleep.
I was at this hostel a year ago and it was a great experience. I gave them 100%. But I feel they've let their standards slip a bit. The double rooms feel like dreary hotel room and the bathrooms are a little dank. However, you can't beat the bar on the first floor nor the overall environment. The location is superb.
great location next to Tienanmen square, Forbidden City, train station staff has good English. young people all over the world.
The hostel has a great location. Its just a few minutes walk to Tiananmen square and it is surrounded by old and ancient streets and little Hutongs. The Hostel is quite international and offers cheap drinks and food. The staff is nice, I had an issue with a tour I booked and they took good care of it, and reimbursed part of the money. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I did not like the bathroom so much though which felt a little uncomfortable. Otherwise the hostel is great!
Great hostel (nice staff, very clean), great location (short walk to Tiananmen, Subway nearby). Would go there again. 100% Recommendation!
Great location. Near Qianmen subway station and many major tourist and shopping attractions. Good staff. Toilets/shower could be bigger but besides that everything was good.
After I stayed at this hostel, this hostel give me warm welcome even I check-in at late night and make me feel comfortable with english-speaking staff. The location is good, there are a lot of food around and not far from the attraction.
