The Hostel was built in an old tipical brazilian house and there was no improvement to make this house a hostel. I didn't like the house itself because it seemed that the owners and the staff don't care about the place. The rooms outside the house stinks and are very small (4 people). The bathrooms are quite dirty and they give you old sheets and a horrible pillow. The location and the breakfast are great, next to the subway and to a bus station that can take you almost anywhere in são paulo.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to write a review for us! We're sorry that you don't like typical Brazilian houses, because all SP hostels are inside 1 and like ours, improved to fit your needs. Yes, we wash and reuse bedsheets, so they are not new. We have replaced your pillow. If you keep the two windows open during your stay, the room will get a chance to ventilate. We clean our bathrooms 05 (five) times per day and we're sorry you seem to have had the bad luck of using it after somebody who didn't care about cleanliness. Sao Paulo is a great city, we hope you enjoyed it!

Goog location, central and close to the metro but the rooms are not the cleanest with rock hard beds. The showers did not always have hot water and the toilets felt a bit dirty.

Hi there and thanks for taking the time to review 3dogs. Not sure why you rated ´staff´so low since we took a lot of time to help you guys out. Private rooms are cleaned before check in. Brazilians showers need to be turned on, perhaps the person before you preferred a cold shower or luke warm shower. We would have been happy to explain to you. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Really close to the metro, nice garden area, rooms were nice but if you are next to the kitchen it can be very loud at night with the music.

Hi there and thanks for the review. Too bad you didn't have anything good to say about our, for example, our helpful staff and our excellent breakfast :) enjoy the rest of your trip!

The 3dogs Hostel is really easy to get to (only a few stops on the Metro from the Sao Paulo bus station), very clean, welcoming and well organised. The owner speaks excellent English, and provides a lot of helpful information for having a good time in Sao Paulo. Good kitchen for cooking your own dinner, and a good breakfast included. Definitely recommended, especially for the shady patio, perfect for relaxing with a beer after a hard day´s sightseeing!

Besides excellent location and super friendly environment, the hostel has a lack of cleaning (stained bed sheets and ashtrays full of cigarettes everywhere). The breakfest is also very good and well served, nobody went out without be satisfied (cheers for the tasty cake).

Hi there and thank you for your review! We're happy you've had a good time here, and will look after the ashtrays more. If you find a stained bedsheet, please let us know so we can replace it with a new one. Happy trails!

Not impressed. Beds like concrete - no extra pillows/blankets. Got NO sleep after a 24 hour flight as couches were located outside our window where the staff had joined the party-ers and continued to scream and squeal until about 4:30 in the morning (both nights), ignoring 12am curfew and repeated requests for quiet. Breakfast was good. Anyone was let in and allowed to sleep in courtyard even if they weren't guests - no security.

Hi there and thank you for your review. We do keep an ear out for loud noise during the night. I have asked my staff to see if any of them had stayed over during your night, but they hadn't. I really do think people should have respected your requests for quiet, and would definitely have taken action, had I heard the noise myself, but I hadn't heard it (I sleep about 8 meters from that couch). Please do not hesitate to knock on my door with complaints at any hour, as per instruction during check-in. Nobody is let in that is no guest at the hostel, but guest are allowed to sleep in the courtyard if they so chose. Cheers and I hope you enjoy Brazil!

Very disappointed with this hostel. We stayed here only one night while passing through Sao Paulo. We were shocked and appalled by the rudeness of the staff.

Hi and thank you for taking the time to review us. I've asked my staff if they remember you in particular, but nobody did. Just that you checked in at 04:30pm, in the middle of the night. At that time, we do a "quick check-in" which means that we take your details, point you out the facilities and your bed. We do this because we do not want to wake up other guests, and usually you yourself are tired as well. Only the next morning, over a cup of coffee and cake, we then proceed to tell you all about the city, with maps, flyers, and any other information you might need. Perhaps this was what irked you? Cheers.

This hostel is in a great area and the staff are really helpful and friendly, the breakfast delicious (especially the cake!) The negatives are the pillows are as thin as paper and our room, for some reason, kept filling with smoke (we have no idea where from). It was so bad that we all got sore throats and had terrible nights sleep. Serious problem. Other than that, pretty good hostel.

Hello, thanks for your time to write a review. We enjoyed your stay and thanks for your feedback. Enjoy your house in Sao Paulo and see you later!

I just really want everyone to know how brilliant this hostel is. The owner sits down with you and gives you a map with list of things to do and explains everything patiently, even if you rock up at midnight. It's lovely setting and you really feel like your staying with a big dysfunctional family.

Music piped into the upstairs toilets is not necessary. Its just another source of noise. If you want to hear the music you can go downstairs. very good breakfasts.

Very cool atmostphere and an extremely helpful staff. The location is really nice because it`s off the main avenues and is quite a bit more relaxed. The patio was great for hanging out and the drink deals were fantastic! Also, good prices and a cool crowd made the experience more fun. I can only reduce my review because the internet-rental netbook did not work at all, and someone stole my churrasco from the fridge. Still, 3dogs was a great choice and I very much recommend it to any traveler
