The hostel locates in the mountain and it is very close to the west lake. We really like the atmosphere here. I remember there is a swing named as "Affair". And we also enjoy the SHISHA in the bar here. The room is small but very clean. I would like to recommend this hostel to my friends. And of course I will stay here again when I go to Hang Zhou next time.

It's a very charming hostel, but unfortunately a bit of a pain to get to, because most of the buses that run near it stop at around 5pm. Also, the bed was a bit hard, and now that I think about it, the rooms were quite noisy. Thin walls claim another victim.

This hostel was difficult to find and less than satisfactory overall. Firstly, it\'s not a good value for money: if you book through this hostel instead of online, you get breakfast tickets included. Next, there were \"holiday\" changes to the daily specials, with no posted notifications. Finally, the staff working at the reception desk gave us completely incorrect timing information causing us to miss our train, despite being asked to clarify repeatedly (and in both English and Chinese).

Had a lot of character and was good value for the money... But there was a definitely a lot of odd poo-type smells... which was a bummer because other than that it was a great place!

IT was a very pleasant place to stay, this hostel is very big, with a lot of saloon and bars, and cute cats :D I didn't feel to be in China, and Hangzhou is so beautiful

Initially it looked fun and cosy in the common area, but it smelled a lot, mostly of urin and about 15 cats were running around. One night we found two cockroaches in our dormatory\\\\\\\'s bathroom and the staff didn\\\\\\\'t really seem to mind. But the small restaurant just below the hostel is very good!

I wasn't happy about the directions I received to my room "just go up to flights, you'll be able to find it" because I arrived at night, in the rain, with a heavy bag. The way the hostel is laid out, I ended up going up and down several staircases before I found my room, and I was rather soaked when I arrived. When I ordered lunch at the cafe/bar, my order was not placed so I had to wait about an hour for my meal (I reminded the bartender about the order) and was not compensated in any way.

The hostel was nice, had a rustic feel to the place. The staff were ok too. However the shower in the room wasn't great as it was literally just a shower tap with no curtain or anything and the floor in the bathroom would be completely soaked after having a shower. There was also a little bit of mold on the ceiling and the room was very cold.

Private room smelt, so we changed to another that smelt like a broken oil heater in the end. Very cold overpriced rooms. The staff were not particulary friendly when we asked to change or we asked fthem for help with the broken washing machine. The common room was smokey from the staff smokers and smelt like cat hair and urine, and in general the place is pretty run unlike the old pictures displayed. Much better options a stones throw from here.

A bit far from everything except the lake, but it's alright. Seems mostly to be a hostel for Chinese folk though. Not that that's a bad thing, but the menu and signs were all poorly translated to the point of not really being decipherable. It got pretty rowdy on the weekend, but it all seemed to be people who lived there, so not much of a "meet travelers" atmosphere. The room was kind of grody and my locker was broken. Oh, and there were tons of cats who always seemed to be moaning loudly.

I was a little surprised at how middle-of-the-road this hostel was after reading reviews. They do provide quite a few tour options as well as cheap dorms and a funky and spacious common room, but I found the staff to be mostly aloof and the "atmosphere" to be not as Westerner-friendly as many other hostels in China and East Asia. Having done a lot of travel (particularly in China), I know there are better deals, cleaner accommodations, and friendlier places. Also, a bit of a hike from West Lake.

Among all the hostels in the world I stayed, this one is the worst ! And the staff there is a disaster ! besides, only one toilet in a room for 10 persons, and the toilet is inside the room, can you imagine ? ! almost everything there made me feel something is not right. Anyway, I'm feeling happy when leaving this hostel.

The hostel was a little bit out of the city centre, however ther is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill. The rooms were ok, matresses are very thin. The bathrooms were a little dirty and had no toilet paper. The room had lockers for security and were heated. The staff were ok, but one morning i was given a map of the city, and when i went to check out the next day, i was told by a different receptionist i owed them money for the map ? Despite not being told this when they gave it to me ??
