The hostel is pretty far from South Station if you are walking with luggage. The rooms are pretty small. The staff were okay. Most of them were pretty rude to us, but one of them was very helpful.

Our stay was great. Helpful staff. The breakfast was awesome--very generous portions although the servers were less than hospitable. A wee bit of street noise from nearby construction but not bad. Everything else was wonderful. Great location near Back Bay subway station made getting around very easy. And allot happening on nearby Tremont Street as well. Showers were nice and hot and full volume water. Lots of foreigners so fun to visit with them.

It was weird that there were some inhabitants that seemed to actually lived there. Sometimes you didn't know if it was a hostel or a rescue space for the homeless.

Visited in May 2012: decent comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, good food included, wifi on all floors, and a good atmosphere. Recommended.

Great location, in the middle of everything! The lobby and the rooms beside the bedroom are awesome. New and really nice furniture and design. The bedroom itself was really plain. Big and good tasting Breakfast with a lot of choices!

There was a fire alarm for about one hour at 2am in the night. I heard no excuse to now... I've just been there for one night and couldn't sleep very well..

When you check in they demand full payment for your stay upfront and make it very clear there's no refunds. The foyer area and receptionist are nice enough reassuring you, but when you get up to your floor you find out why they insisted on upfront payment. It is disgraceful - filthy, dingy, and feels quite unsafe. Despite having paid for three nights I left after one - the only place I've EVER left early. If you value your health, safety, and dignity over saving a few dollars avoid this place.

Great location and only a short walk to basically everywhere. Nice and helpfull staff. Shower and bathroom facilities were clean and good. Room was ok, but a very disturbing sound from the radiator might spoil your sleep. We changed the room after the first night, because it was like someone was hitting the radiator with a pipe. Was a bit better in the second room, but still impossible to sleep without earplugs. So take earplugs with you. Breakfast was a nice surprise.

The room was okay, not really a beautiful place but clean. Same for the bathrooms. Staff was really friendly and the breakfast good. Great location, you can get everywhere pretty fast. We also bought our tickets for the aquarium and the science center there and it was so much cheaper! That was really nice. I would definitely recommend a stay at this hostel!

I really liked my stay at 40 Berkeley Reception nice, internet worked well, room small but with furniture (desk, closet, dresser). Location not to be beat! Breakfast not especially appetizing.

The location is great, just a few blocks between two different T stations (Back Bay and Arlington). The hostel is also close enough that you can walk to pretty much any major destination within 2 miles. The neighborhood itself is nice and there is a 7-11 open 24 hours across the street if you need to pick up snacks or toiletries. The hostel itself is nice, clean, and has great service desk people. They offer tons of free amenities and an amazing breakfast.

Noisy room next to a creaky elevator, but otherwise everything was fine. Wonderful included breakfasts.

The location is perfect to visit the city, you don\'t need to take any public transport. The breakfast is really good and the room was simple but clean. The only negative thing was that in our room there was a very strong pipes at night coming from the tubes and it was quite annoying because it woke us up several times during the night. We spoke with the staff, but we were told that all the rooms had the same problem.

For a single female traveler like myself this place was a truly goog choice! I loved the location and the fact that it was so close to most of it if you didnt mind walking. But there is also alot of public transport located close to the hostel. The staff was great wh gave great service. The room was small but included everything you would need. The only bad thing though was the fast that the WIFI didnt work properly on all floors so you had to go down to teh lobby to access it!
