Quite close to the bus station such an important thing for every backpacker. Youth Hostel quiet and pleasant. simple and not too big. spacious kitchen decent bathrooms. the internet works pretty well, there is a small patio area with a television with a DVD to pass evenings relaxing. not the classic party Hostel thing that can come in handy if you're planning some tour! the center of the city is a bit distant but taxy are quite cheap and a good walk in the city of Salta is a pleasure! Jose
It's very large, generally clean, but could use some more bathrooms and a little thought toward ventilation of same. Nice open spaces, but DURING THE SUMMER those rooms are overstuffed jail cells that need their air flow addressed. A fan fixed on the wall between windows near the ceiling does absolute zilch. Prepare to sweat a lot.
Very bad atmosphere. Room without key. Mosquitos everywhere. Very old structure. Breakfast not good. Not raccomended at all.
BED BUGS, we only spent 4hrs in our beds before realising what was crawling on us... We left the hostel very early in the morning. A shame as the owner is really nice and the hostel looked ok in general.
I liked this hostel, although the power point in the room I was in could be better placed so you could actually use the fan at night. Location is good. Staff are pretty helpful.
The first room we were put in had bedbugs, but when we told the staff they moved us into a new room. Cleanliness was not great, but the breakfast was nice with cereal and bread on offer, and the staff were really helpful. About a 15 minute walk from the station (only a few blocks, but the block are long) and short walk into the main street for dinner.
Nice hostel about 25 min walk from the plaza. Very close to supermarket and bus station. Definitely go to Viejo Jack for steak the filet was the most tasty and tender we had in Argentina. Nightlife area a short taxi away
The rooms had a fan, but were really hot. The kitchen had ants all over the sides. Would like to think their are better hostels in Salta.
Nice hostel, good breakfast and helpful staff to guide you to where you need to go.
Stayed a few nights, during the day i did some tours. Nice to have big lockers, good bed, nice outside area. Not to far from the busstation. Kitchen was not all that, but i had a great time here!
+ clean & hot shower, helpful staff, good location, comfortable atmosphere, interesting conversation with people from around - no hot water in the kitchen,

Close to the bus terminal and to the center of Salta. Good breakfast and nice staff. Rooms and bathrooms are clean.
Really liked this hostel - we went back three times in between our various excursions around northern Argentina. So welcoming, so comfortable (stayed in both dorms and private rooms). Strong wifi (watched Netflix, yay!), lovely showers, nice breakfast. Best of all the staff were amazing and very helpful. We got an excellent overview of the city and a guide to changing money on the blue market (including how to check notes). The housekeeper is sooo lovely, a real sweetheart. Fab hostel!
The most spotless hostel I have been in. Laid back, quiet, staff is excellent, location is perfect next to restaurants, grocery store, huge lockers in the room, beds so comfortable, a lot of bathrooms/showers, just everything! for 3 & stayed 6 - definitely stay here. Diane
Well located halfway between the bus terminal and the main plaza, and close to an ATM and supermarket. Staff were all really friendly. The rooms are on the small side, and it was kind of hard to get on to the top bunk as there was a fan in the way of the ladder.
I didn't spend much time in this hostel, but I liked it. The kitchen was big enough, it had plenty of shared bathrooms and a nice backyard, and the staff was great. The room was OK, it had a nightstand and a clothes rack (not all hostels have them). It could have been closer to the center, but Salta is very walkable. Thumbs up!
Nice hostel! We stayed just 1 night, but could have stayed for longer! Breakfast is nothing special but ok, we would recommend it!
7 Duendes is a basic but nice hostel with lots of open air spaces. Members of the staff are very friendly and helpful - I had an issue with a money transfer and the guy at the reception helped me by making several phone calls - , although in most cases they don't speak english. The room I slept in was tiny but ok, bed was confy, and breakfast was definitely good. The kitchen is quite big and it becomes a sociable area, as well as the garden. Would recommend!
