Staff are generally ok. However the guesthouse forgot to give us all our clean laundry back when we checked out. We needed to go back to the GH to collect it knowing mistakes do happen. We arrived at night after a flight from Hanoi and went to get it. However one of the staff who could not speak much english shouted at my Philippine girl friend telling her to get out and Vietnamise are not welcome to stay in the guesthouse. Next day staff apologised but this should not have happened We went bac

This has been the best place i've stayed at in Vietnam...excellent location, staff where wicked and cheap cheap water (and other stuff coz they have a shop downstairs) this is backpackers ideal location, with the comforts of AC and private en-suite, rooms are good too and and when it gets a bit manic, there is cable TV :-) well worth the money + if u stay 1 night and then ask for more, you can negotiate the price...

The staff was very friendly. They helped with everything from money exchange to tour bookings. The hostel is in walking distance from attractions such as the war museum and the puppet theatre. It gets pretty loud downstairs in the evening as you are surrounded by karaoke bars, but you can always go downstairs and join in on the fun.

The location of this guesthouse was perfect! you are close to all the things you will need and our tours picked us up around the corner. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The price was good and the rooms were very clean and spacious. We would stay here again!

Located next to the bars, so there's a whole lot of noise late at night from the bands playing the same live songs every night. Friendly owners who do not push their tours at all. Located above a convenience store, which comes in handy. Bring your earplugs, do not expect anything more then a comfortable bed and you'll be just fine.

An okay hostel. Location was good, close to sights and restaurants. From our room you could hear people talking, children crying and people shouting from the early hours to late at night. AC, TV and fridge worked fine. Shower wasn't always hot - had to catch it at the right time. Room wasn't cleaned or toilet bin emptied in the 3 days that we stayed there. Don't think I'd stay again, but ok for a short stay really.

First time in my 30 years of travelling worldwide that I've had to report such a crappy stay. Unfortunately our plane arrived 2 hours late in Saigon from Beijing - they complained about that - even so we gave the taxi driver a $10.00 USD tip. Water from the sink continually leaked under the sink to the floor - they simplyt shrugged their shoulders when I asked for help. There was no place to hang up clothing. I ended up receiving HUGE itchy welts from bugs in the bed covering or mattress -

Guesthouse is cheap, and the location was perfect. Came back 3 times, stayed for about 10 days in total. Outside bar is great, very cheap beer. Also has a minimarket in the guesthouse with good value for money.

Its a great crash pad for a night, right in the middle of backpacker land . No communal area opr breakfast though which means I would only recommend if you're in HCMC for a night.

Not worth it, you can probably find much better out there, that said it was a bed, quiet enough and clean.

Great location, right near lots of bars, restaurants, etc. On a busy street but I didn't hear the noise (my room had no window). Convenience store in lobby had anything you could want. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was average for the cost. Shower had low pressure and water only got lukewarm. A/C worked well, room was clean, bed was comfortable. Overall pleasant, but bit disappointed no breakfast incl.

Nice and friendly stuff, excellent location. There were limited common facilities but this did not bother me. Please make sure that you pay around US$8 or 150K dong for getting there from the airport, not US$20-25 requested by some drivers.

We had a great time at 96 Guesthouse. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when it came to giving advice to first timers to HCMC. Accommodation we had was at back of guesthouse so was quiet. TV and airconditioning were a godsend after hot days walking around the city. Very conveniently located near very affordable shopping, eating and bars. Really didnt need to leave District 1 at all except for more sightseeing. LOVED IT and we will definitely stay there again.
