I stayed here for 5 days in total with a break in the middle. The hostal was fantastic. Very clean with plenty of space. No bunk beds so you don't feel like a battery hen. The bathrooms were always spotless. The staff were so friendly even cooking us dinner one evening. And they brought us out some times to go for drinks - very informal - not like these cheesy organised bar crawls that most hostels do. Just spontenious and very relaxed. They know the good places not just the tourist bars. I was

Great place to stay in Pallermo, excellent location, and the best thing - the staff, simply amazing :) Helped us a lot during our stay, even provided some free nightlife guided tours :)

Everything was amazing. Except one thing: THE BUS TIMETABLE TO THE AIRPORT is not up-dated... While the staff was 100 % sure about this timetable... Backpackers, be careful!!!! My friend and I missed our flight in Birgi-Trapani airport because of this stupid reason...

Staff was friendly and welcoming! Showed me some areas I should check out. I was just there over night so I wasn't really looking to meet new people but they definitely provide that type of atmosphere for you! Also I was on the trip alone and didn't know any Italian so they were very helpful.

Great location, great facilities, awesome atmosphere! The only problem is that there is only one bathroom for men and one for women so you sometimes have to wait quite a bit if you want to use it, but apart from that GREAT!

I got lucky and got a room in the main building. It was just great, the employees are real gentle and spoke my language. The rooms are confortable and are quite clean and well decorated, the atmosphere was nice, we went out to grab some beers with everyone; even the owners. So I recomend it but only if you get a room in the principal dorm, if not you may have a good time as well but without a lot great stuff.

I didn't like the fact that we were put in a different building than the reception. Luckily I was traveling with someone else, or else this would have not been ideal for a solo traveler. I would assume if placed in the main building you would be fine though. Staff was just average, friendly but not very helpful in planning what to do in Palermo.

Would not recommend this place. My (4 bed) dorm was in a seperate building from the main one. Beds were terribly uncomfortable, no WIFI in the dorm, kitchen and breakfast were in the main building. Bathrooms in my building were pretty crappy. No real atmosphere to speak of since it just seemed like long-stay people, staff, and the owner in the common area. Location was acceptable, but nothing special. Same with the free breakfast.

Travellers in Palermo have not much options to book a hostel. Casa di Amici failed to provide a state of the art level in hostelling: two bathrooms (toilet + shower in the same room) only. The biggest concern is about safety. No lockers. Somebody grabbed in my luggage. In general the hostel has potential to be a good one, but now everybody should be extremely carefull. Location inside Palermo is excellent, stuff is ok, but concerns in other issues are still there.
